Notes: A Visit with Pastor Lee Toms
I went today with Rod Fendal over to visit Pastor Toms in St. Helena. It was good to see him again . . . it may very well have been my last time. He doesn't have long, say the doctors. He has outlived their expectations. That's because Lee is in the Hands of his Savior, not the surgent. His mind though was sharp!! And we had a very stimulating conversation! What a precious brother and friend he is!! What a jewel we have had in our midst ... shining in his own special and spiritually empowered way!
Pastor Toms made these statements:
Concerning Terrorism, he said:
"Terrorist are invisible. They are the unseen presence. Who is better able to deal with the unseen world than . . . the Church. It needs to mobilize itself against the unseen enemy of our souls."
"The Church needs to be mobilized to confront the unseen enemy (2Cor10:-4-5). Pray God will root out the enemy at the source. We must understand and become proactive in assailing the Gates of Hell . . . to set the captives free!"
Concerning his health, he said:
"The cancer is definitely going to kill me. But, The spiritual experiences have been absolutely transforming . . ."
In response to the question, "why haven't You taken me home?, the Lord told him: 'I have established a course for you, and when you have finished it, I will take you home.'"
The grace of God is mighty in Pastor Tom's life. In his spirit, he is remarkably strong, resolute and clear thinking! It was a joy to be in his presence and talk about things, listening to the grace and wisdom of God in his life.
You may know that Pastor Toms has written and now has published two books. And they are PRECIOUS!! Please order a copy for yourself and others. They are: Letters from Lillian, and the other is The Mantle of Ministry. Both were published by Pascoe Publishing, Karen Pascoe, publisher. A prayer request about the books... pray for the distributing process. These are two outstanding books: one that has to do with the "practical and pastoral theology" of life between a husband and wife in ministry, and the other with the Mantle of Ministry itself. You will see that it was truly a shared calling that Lee and Lillian had together. Let's do everything we can to get the information out to as many people and distributors of Christian books that you know. ...Christian schools, Bible Colleges, Seminaries, Bible Institutes. Anywhere in English.
I believe, having seen the books, that they would be excellent tools for anyone preparing for ministry and dealing with the challenges that it presents in the grace and workings of God for such lives.
