  Pastors Prayer Partners ...
Men ... being manly!

Gentlemen,

Thank you for praying for Sevan Reynolds. He is doing better after the operation and should be ready for release within a few days. But, please continue to pray for his recovery and renewed physical strength. Thanks!

Here are the requests from our pastoral staff this week. As I read through these requests, I noticed that our staff continues to be concerned about their own growth and their outreach into the community. What a joy to continue to come before the Father and Creator of everything on behalf of our fellow laborers. Continue to pray for God’s protection of them, their families, and their growing relationship with our Savior.

Thanks,

Vic and Guenther
(the ice cream boys)

We found out yesterday it's mono. He's pretty bad right now but he's on steroids for the swollen glands which will hopefully help. He's supposed to stay in bed for the next week."~ Elizabeth Walsh

Pray for the application of God's Word to our lives
God has been speaking to many hearts in these past weeks. Being in relationship and community with one another is a struggle for many. Schedules, habits, time, lack of interest, not wanting to be accountable, needing to talk, transparency . . . and the list can go on. These are all barriers in the thinking of all of us. I know. Because I too have struggled with these thoughts and feelings. I need to change. But it ain't easy! Having a family, working two jobs, being single or married, attending weekly church max's out my life. But still, deep down I know I need and want to be together with other brothers and sisters IN Christ. The fellowship together with Him meets my deepest spiritual need. And then I'm not alone, anymore.

Do these thoughts or feelings sound familiar? They should. We've all had them. As a prayer warrior, we ask you to pray down every barrier that's keeping those who are a part of Arcade from coming together in Lifegroups. Young or old. Married or single. Male or female. We need one another.

  Haggard headed on long journey
Following an extraordinarily public fall, the Rev. Ted Haggard now enters a period of self- reflection guided by three spiritual elders whose mission is defined with a nebulous term: restoration.

What exactly does that mean?

Those who have guided public figures and religious leaders through their darkest moments say Haggard's road ahead requires honesty, humility, rest, submission to authority and - above all else - time. Read Full story on APB page 2.

  Hindrances to God’s Presence
“Have you ever wondered if it is possible to get God’s attention or attract His presence? And if it is possible, then why don’t we spend more time doing those things that welcome His presence? God’s Word establishes clear principles regarding His presence. There are things that prepare for and welcome the presence of the Lord - things like prayer, unity, worship, and a broken and contrite spirit. There are also things that cause Him to withdraw or remain at a distance.” Rhonda Hughey

Dear Intercessors,

Jesus is knocking at the door of our cities. Can you hear His knock? Are you aware that Your King wants to visit your city, but He will not force His way in when there is no invitation. It is the responsibility of the church to welcome His presence into the city. He is the honored guest. We must roll out the royal carpet for our King, and invite His glorious entrance into our cities. We must do this together as the corporate church in the city. The question we must ask ourselves is, “Are we desperate enough?” “Do we long enough for His presence?” “Can we live without Him in our city?” “Are we willing to seek Him together as the city church?   Sunday's Town Hall Meeting
The Arcade Town Hall meeting was attended by a couple of hundred people who have a passion to see Arcade worship Jesus Christ and honor Him in all things. Bill Baker the Chairman of the Elder Board facilitated the meeting in which various staff pastors gave an overview of Arcade ministries. It became obvious there is much to be thankful about as each pastor gave encouraging reports of ministry, changed lives and hope.

Bill Baker also brought a reality check to all the good reports given. He reported that the congregation is over $400,000 behind budget for this fiscal year, which is only 4 1/2 months into the fiscal year. Tim Skillman reported how the pastoral staff and elder board have prayed for wisdom and guidance to limit expenses and create a livable budget. Beside eliminating 25 paid staff positions, 15 % was also cut from the Missions budget. Some of these cuts were necessary and long overdue. This period of Arcade financial crunch has forced us to take a realistic look at all Missions support given. $90,000 dollar plus was cut from the missions budget. This included retirees; other ministries which had or were closing. There were several state-side organizations, and individuals who were also reduced.

During the Q & A time, interaction centered around missions and ministry claifications. Words of encouragement and suggestions from the floor where both clarifying and supportive. We have much to be thankful for during this Thanksgiving season. Pastor Jake reminded us of the tumultuous 3 years we have just past through. Those waters saw the release of all but two pastoral positions. Arcade suffered the loss of over 400 attendees and 120 giving members.

The attendance dropped significantly in the past 14 months - from 1900 down to 1500 members/attendees. It was reported that the acquisition of Del Norte Club has not drained on the cash flow of the Arcade Budget, since the Club basically pays for itself. Other ministries were either eliminated, or consolidated. Through it all there has been a healthy spirit of life in Christ as He continues to Build His Church! Praise God for His faithfulness! Please continue to pray for the pastoral team, elder board and office staff as the ministry continues to manuver toward calmer waters. Pray for the members of Arcade to take their responsibiloity of worship and service seriously. It was reported that 37% of the Arcade donors ONLY give an average of $200 - A YEAR!! That is a shock! Pray that the Lord will bless them all with new hearts of worship and increased income, so they will want to generously give unto the Lord for His faithfulness to them!

Blessings to all at Arcade with peace and joy from God our Father and His Son our Lord Jesus Christ, and the life of the Holy Spirit! ~ writer: Joe Walsh, Elder

Sunday - Nov 19 - Arcade Townhall Meeting
Please pray for the Townhall meeting after church on Sunday. It should be a helpful update on a series of subjects and projects by the pastoral staff, elder board, and other ministry leaders. There will be plenty of time for Q & A.. It is hoped that our time together will be a blessing of encouragement and hope as God leads us forward into the future (Jer. 29:11).

Teaching Old Dogs New Tricks - pray for Davis' In FRANCE
Dear Ministry Partners,

Cynthia and I have been doing some thinking as to how we can better communicate with you. We have found that writing a traditional prayer letter even in a pdf format is sometimes an imposing task. Writing two pages of inspiring and captivating text is a challenge for even professional writers, and we are hardly in that category! We have also had several comments from you that you really appreciate pictures of us, our family and our ministry. But how do we write succinct texts with numerous pictures without creating a huge file? The answer, or at least part of it, is in creating a blog!

For the other old dogs out there, a blog is a weblog (or website) that displays in chronological order the postings by an individual with pictures, links, comments on postings, etc. By using a blog, I think it will enable you to go as deep as you want and to get the information and pictures that you desire without overloading your inbox. Please - READ More at apb page 2.

Join the Eddie/Alice Smith - 52 Week School of Prayer

  "Take One at One"
Several Prayer Partners across the country asked that we continue to stand in ALIGNMENT and in UNITY today -- Election Day -- by "taking one at one", again.

We say: AMEN!

[ "So again today, we will stop what we are doing and join forces in prayer by taking "ONE MINUTE at 1:00 p.m." to recite THE LORD'S PRAYER, interceding over our national elections.

Our prayers of alignment with each other and with the will of God can do MIGHTY THINGS to move His Kingdom forward, in partnership with the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ of Nazareth!

This is also clearly an hour in which our Lord is calling all of us to the deepest levels of repentance . . . Please take a moment before you say The Lord's Prayer with us, to be sure that you are in right standing with Him.

Please join others now as we bow our heads and pray the prayer that JESUS taught His disicples to pray, saying:

"Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen." (Matthew 6:9-13)" ]

  National Leader fails and Reminds
Note - Dennis Prager has Comments

Dear brothers, sisters and Friends of Arcade . . .

Please continue to pray for our pastoral leadership, Elders, Deacons-Deaconnesses that they would not be lead into temptation, but delivered them from evil.

Thank you for praying for Ted and Gayle
The healing and restoration begins.

Earlier this week we invited you to us in praying for our friends Ted and Gayle Haggard. So many of you have done so, and hundreds have written to tell us.

It seems right to inform you as to where you can either read or watch (online video) the reading of their letters to their church.

Why? We find their letters to be appropriate to the situation and filled with good counsel for each of us.

Without further comment, except to encourage you to continue praying for them, for their family, New Life Church and Pastor Ross and staff.

Read the letters Ted and Gayle Haggard have written to their church at:

Eddie and Alice Smith are the founders of the US Prayer Center. Please click on their link and further read what they say about Pastor Ted and how to pray for him. Note also the excellent helps on prayer at their website. May we use it and learn from it.
