Praise God for a Wonder-fulled All-Church Prayer Encounter!
The nearly 60 people who attended the All-Church Prayer Encounter for 2007, were met with a number of challenges: no running water, no hot water, rooms in renovation, broken pipes and meeting room reassignments. Couples had to be moved around or separated. Several stayed at the local hotel in Occidental, a couple of miles up the road. BUT, each challenge with beautiful met with hearts that were amazingly resilient and joyful, all at the same time. It was heard said: "Wow, God's got something special for this Prayer Encounter!" And they were right! Ryan Walton lead with guitars in the opening Thursday evening. The theme of worship drew us all into God's presence in a miraculous way. It was obvious to the leadership team that people had been and were praying back home! It was beautiful as we all sensed the presence of God's Spirit and closeness of God. Ryan, himself, was amazed at the tender Spirit and presence of God as each participant came with hungry hearts to see His presence. Ryan stated later how he wished he had had several of the young people and members of his congregation there to experience the very presence of God in that place. It was more than technique, form or function. It was God! Plan and simple!

God brought the hearts of those attending together in a spirit of worship and unity that was most refreshing and renewing and revitalizing to pastor Jake, Dann, Jeremy, John, 3 elders and other ministry leaders and first time attenders. In the final analysis, we sensed a special work of repentance, for ourselves and on behalf of the congregation, in which God is bringing an assurance of a new beginning. We became more importantly united with pastor Jake as our pastor of worship and prayer. He knows that unless God works, demonstrates His presence, power and glory in our midst, nothing will happen! Jake wants all that and everyone else who attended . . . and we know most certainly the congregation does as well!

Pray for a continued revitalization of the prayer ministry at Arcade. As prayer leaders are pulled together into a Prayer Ministry Team (PMT), we are confident God is going to lead us into "new paths, with new wine and new wineskins." We have seen the path, tasted the wine and are wearing the new wineskins!

To all those who stayed behind, guarding the baggage as it were, receive equal reward in the economy of God. And so we rejoice TOGETHER! Thank you to all who prayed! God has shown us, He is going to continue what He has started (Phil.1:6). And now thanks for being a part of His continuous journey with us all!

Please pray for the exciting development of the Lifegroups!
A letter sent out by Pastor Jake to Ministry Leaders. Have you become a part of a Lifegroup yet? Sign-up soon and maybe even become a Lifegroup facilitator.

Dear Ministry Leaders:

I am writing you today with an enthusiasm and excitement for the future of Arcade Church. Being the official Lead Pastor for a few months now has been an absolute honor and privilege. As we have partnered together we have been able to see an increase in connection with God, connection with one another, and a greater connection with our world. We have not only seen God working in the core leaders of our church, but also on the fringes as more and more people commit to Live Life Connected through our LIFEgroup Ministry.

What does God have in store for 2007? The pastors, elders, and you the leaders have been praying for God to reveal his plans for this next year. We appreciate your commitment to pray and believe God is honoring our request by giving us clear vision for 2007 and beyond. For nearly three months that pastoral team has spent relentless hours praying and listening for God's guidance. It has been spectacular to watch the pastoral team unite, bond, grow, and develop shared vision and mission.

I know many of you are eager to press forward as God leads. I assure you that we are working relentlessly to arrive at a place where we are ready to begin sharing how God is leading us as pastors and elders. I want to encourage you until then to continue to stay the course (and pray). Henry Blackaby says that we must continue to do what we know God told us to do until he gives us further instructions. The course is set before us by God and so we will wait for his clear direction and then share this refined vision with enthusiasm and expectation.

We quote this scripture often as it is a reassuring and comforting message from God.

Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for wholeness and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." ESV

God truly does have a plan for Arcade Church that is perfect and filled with hope. God bless you as we stay (and pray) the course together committed to connecting with God, one another, and the world around us.

In Him,

Jake Larson
Lead Pastor

From a Friend about "a saving grace" at a Restaurant.
Last week, I took my children to a restaurant.

My six-year-old son asked if he could say grace.

As we bowed our heads he said, "God is good, God is great. Thank you for the food, and I would even thank you more if Mom gets us ice cream for dessert. And Liberty and justice for all! Amen!"

Along with the laughter from the other customers nearby, I heard a woman remark, "That's what's wrong with this country. Kids today don't even know how to pray. Asking God for ice cream! Why, I never!"

Hearing this, my son burst into tears and asked me, "Did I do it wrong? Is God mad at me?"

As I held him and assured him that he had done a terrific job, and God was certainly not mad at him, an elderly gentleman approached the table.

He winked at my son and said, "I happen to know that God thought that was a great prayer."

"Really?" my son asked.

"Cross my heart," the man replied.

Then, in a theatrical whisper, he added (indicating the woman whose remark had started this whole thing), "Too bad she never asks God for ice cream. A little ice cream is good for the soul sometimes."

Naturally, I bought my kids ice cream at the end of the meal.

My son stared at his for a moment, and then did something I will remember the rest of my life.

He picked up his sundae and, without a word, walked over and placed it in front of the woman. With a big smile he told her, "Here, this is for you. Ice cream is good for the soul sometimes; and my soul is good already."

State of the Union Address - full speech
THE PRESIDENT: Thank you very much. And tonight, I have a high privilege and distinct honor of my own -- as the first President to begin the State of the Union message with these words: Madam Speaker. (Applause.)

In his day, the late Congressman Thomas D'Alesandro, Jr. from Baltimore , Maryland , saw Presidents Roosevelt and Truman at this rostrum. But nothing could compare with the sight of his only daughter, Nancy, presiding tonight as Speaker of the House of Representatives. (Applause.) Congratulations, Madam Speaker. (Applause.)

Two members of the House and Senate are not with us tonight, and we pray for the recovery and speedy return of Senator Tim Johnson and Congressman Charlie Norwood. (Applause.)

Madam Speaker, Vice President Cheney, members of Congress, distinguished guests, and fellow citizens: READ Full Speech and please pray for the President

Please read this and pray for the Hall family.

Greetings in the powerful Amen of Jesus!

Steve Hall is IRM’s Washington State Rep. His wife, Johnie, collapsed a couple days ago while at her house. She stopped breathing a couple times, and her family kept her alive until the medics arrived. She was getting better. This evening (Sunday PM Pacific time) she took a turn for the worse. She has been transferred to the University of Washington hospital with the probability of a heart transplant. She is in very serious condition. Please call out for her life as soon as you read this note.

For those of you who may not know, in the last 6 months, Steve has had brain surgery and addressed serious issues with his stomach and lungs.

Please pray for both of them and their children – Joe and Betsy – both teenagers. This is a very serious time for this good family!

Thanks

Dennis Fuqua

Eddie Moss Quietly Slipped into the Hands of God New Years Eve

As the new year entered in Eddie took his leave. The house was full with his children, grandchildren, daughter in law and friend, preparing to see the new year in. There was laughter, domino games and food, and movies. He quietly slipped away without a sound and with us protected from the sound of any gasps or rattles. He had been loved on all evening and talked to and stroked. I had just told him 5 minutes before he passed of how much I loved him and that it was okay to go with Jesus when He came for him and that we would be okay.

When I realized he was gone I called to everyone to surround his bed for prayer. After I prayed and thanked God for His amazing grace I informed them that their dad and grandad was gone and that they coukld greive as much as they needed to and be with him while they could. Hard? Yes! Tears? Yes! GRACE? It abounded!! To God be the glory. We sang over him and spent the night celebrating the life of this man that we love so much and will never forget. As I sat by his bed I sang "It Is Well With My Soul" and I'm Going Up Yonder"

Your prayers continue to carry us. Now for the grace to make arrangements and say the final goodby' until we meet again..."Up Yonder"

Your sister in Christ with the hurting heart, Alice

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ONE AND ALL !
Please pray for an increase in worshipping hearts throughout the congregation. Nothing attracts the presence of God more into the life of a local congregation than men and women who take seriously the admonishing of our Lord Jesus to Satan, "... worship the LORD your God, and Him only shall you serve"(Mt. 4:10).

  All Church Prayer Encounter

Pray also for personal renewal in the heart and life of each person. Pray for scholarships to be donated for those needing help. Registration has begun. Sign-up soon and pray for all attending and to focus on the heart of our Father.
