Sunday - Oct 22 - Installation Sunday for Pastor Jake
Hi Everyone,
We are all encouraged about the upcoming weekend Installation Service (Sunday, October 22). Thank you for your prayers and help in other details that will make the time meaningful and God honoring.
In general, an Installation Service is a Welcome of and Agreement with, to walk in unity and harmony in Christ with the new pastor, to accomplish God's will through the congregation and reaching the city and surroundings of where the local church is located. This is done in conjunction with pastoral representation of the denomination, possibly national, state and/ or local pastoral leaders. Usually those participating bring brief words of welcome, exhortation and a prayers of blessing to the new incoming pastor and to the congregation. This is not an Ordination Service whereby someone is being interviewed, and dialoged with over their theological views to see if they line up with the position of a specific denomination. For Pastor Jake that was accomplished several years ago, and acknowledged and approved by the Arcade Church Elder Board in accordance with the By-Laws of our local church.
In our case, there will be NorCal/Nev., Conservative Baptist Association representation, local city participation of the denomination, and local pastoral representation from the broader community. There will be a lead pastor (Pastor Daniel Henderson) who will bring a word of encouragement for Pastor Jake, as well as to the Congregation. It also involves, as in our case, the coming together of our Elders, Deacons and Deaconnesses Boards in prayers of blessing and presentation of the new (lead) pastor to the congregation.
It will be a wonderful time of remembering God's grace, sovereignty and leadership over our congregation through a Lead Pastor and the entire pastoral / staff ministry of the local church. May your hearts be encouraged in this special time of acknowledgement and celebration of God's goodness to us. May God's Spirit guide and glorify His Son and empower us all to live in ways that demonstrates our love for Him as we worship and serve Him only.
